Scaldcrow Games - Edgy RPGs for a new generation

At MACE 2007, I encountered a lovely young lady who played the Sundrah demo and attributed some of her good fortune to her "lucky kitty". It seems that she was carrying a small stuffed cat. I was so delighted by her good humor and her outlandish prop that  went to the dealers room and took photos of other, similar Lucky Kitties. Without further ado - Lucky Kitty.

Lucky Kitty

Description
This device was developed to bring the common adventurer good fortune in the face of the overwhelming malice and oppression of Sundrah, where the Rune Gods cast their filthy shadow over all things good and evil.

Effect
Cures any single curse known to the wielder. To use this miraculous object it must be chucked with startling speed at the recipient of its grace. This benign assault must catch the target by surprise for the magic to be effective. If used against a target who is cursed by undeath, they must succeed in a LvL save or be destroyed and returned to peace. The wielder also gains a bonus of +5% to their experience point bonus.

Value: 3 gp (4 gp if extra cute - +1 reaction)

At DragonCon 2007 I had the good fortune to meet a young lady wearing a sandwich sign for a costume. It simply said "+1" I asked "+1 against what?" she replied "whatever." She then pointed to a button that she had been given at another booth that said "+2 vs Zombies". So she was an item +1 whatever, +2 versus zombies. I was so amused by this that I promised to write up the item for the website.

Just in time for Halloween, here is a special treat from the Scaldcrow Games basket:

Dragon Amulet

Description

These broadly useful items were created by ancient hammer mages in Jalanthros to combat a growing threat of undead creatures and hordes of zombies being thrust against them by powerful necromancers hidden in the Gan Wastes. Unfortunatly multiple dragon amulets cannot be combined for greater bonuses.

The Dragon amulet gets its name from a poem that was adopted as a war anthem against the zombie hordes:

The Dragon Reclaimeth

Kissed by a dragon,

burned from the sky

that which was was gone again

the dessert left empty and dry

Once per year, in the city of Jalanthros, the Dragon Festival is observed by thousands who pay homage to the heroes that took up the amulets against and defeated the damned hordes. Those who attend this festival always come in ellaborate costumes usuallly portraying, the heroes, the necromancers or the dead.

Effect
+1 bonus versus all skills, damage, armor, and saves, +2 versus zombies. Value: 2.007 pp or 2007 bp.
